SODOM


Sodom is a video game character from the both the Final Fight and Street Fighter series. He first appeared in Final Fight. He was renamed Katana in the North American SNES version of Street Fighter Alpha 2 for name issues. He was a top member of the original Mad Gear gang. A Caucasian male born in the United States, Sodom is obsessed with Japanese culture and considers himself Japanese. He is well-versed in many elements of Japanese culture, though his usage of the language is somewhat dubious.
In the original Final Fight, Sodom controlled the Mad Gear gang from the Metro City Subway. He was undefeated in underground pro wrestling, albeit due to his use of "foreign objects" (the swords), until he met Guy, as well as Cody and Haggar. At first Sodom was honored to face a true ninja of Japanese descent like Guy, but this honor would turn into deep shame as Guy and his allies beat him. From then on, Sodom hated Guy for not only being one of the people to rid Metro City of his gang, but for destroying his undefeated streak which proved in his mind he was no match for a true Japanese fighter. The incident also cost him a lot of respect amongst his fellow gang members.

Sodom is the only character in Street Fighter Alpha 3 whose weapons he uses depends on what Ism is used. If using X-Ism fighting style, he'll use his katanas; otherwise, in the A-Ism and V-Ism styles, he will use his jitte. This is because his X-Ism visage is based on his Final Fight appearance.

Sodom was notable for being fairly difficult to defeat head-on in the original Final Fight, due to his dash attack being nearly invincible and quite damaging. However, it is possible to defeat him without actually taking any damage at all if the player approaches him along a vertical axis and uses grabbing and throwing moves, since his dash attack can only move horizontally or diagonally. Successful application of the above method can allow the player to easily defeat Sodom without harm, since he is the only boss character in Final Fight who does not have henchmen to back him up during battle.


In combat, Sodom wears tabi and geta, samurai gauntlets, blue jeans, body armor, and a samurai kabuto with a mask.

On the front of his outfit, Sodom has scrawled the Japanese kanji shi (死), meaning death. However, this kanji is not written properly, and actually has no meaning. Sodom's failed attempt at Japanese calligraphy emblazoned across his chest at all times is meant to be humorous.

He is never seen fighting without a pair of jitte or katana blades, making him one of the few characters to appear in the Street Fighter series to use weaponry. In the Japanese version of Final Fight, both katana are named Masamune, and Muramasa.

CHARLIE NASH


Charlie Nash, usually called Charlie in English and Nash in Japan, is a character from Capcom's Street Fighter series of fighting games. He is first introduced as a playable character in the original Street Fighter Alpha, but was already part of the series' backstory since Street Fighter II. Charlie is a first lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Charlie is first mentioned by name in the Street Fighter II storyline (first released in 1991), where he is the deceased war buddy of Guile, one of the playable characters in the game. In Street Fighter Alpha 3, Charlie sacrificed His own life in order to kill M. Bison but he had no success, Bison's soul went to Rose's body making her his temporary host. In the game, Guile enters the World Warrior tournament with the purpose of avenging his fallen friend's death. In Super Street Fighter II Turbo, a scene is shown of Guile visiting Charlie's grave.

Charlie wears green cargo pants and a light Yellow flack jacket. He has glasses which he takes off before a fight. He has an exaggerated hairstyle consisting of a large forelock of blond hair. This outfit (minus the forelock) is also Guile's alternate costume in Street Fighter IV. The Marvel vs. Capcom series provided a twist on Charlie's fate. In his ending for X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Charlie is captured by Bison, who performs terrible experiments on him. Charlie's fate would be left up in the air until Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, where a secret character by the name of Shadow appeared. Shadow was a palette swap of Charlie, with nearly his entire body blacked out, and a white eye shining behind his glasses. He had all of Charlie's moves, but his attacks would set his opponent alight with blue Psycho-Power flames. His supers also had a brief pause where his eye would gleam before the move was pulled off (this made him somewhat unpopular, as the gleam could give an opponent enough time to block or avoid the attack). Shadow would later appear in Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes as a secret helper character. However, by Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, Shadow seems to have reverted back to his original form, but by how is unknown. In addition, the ending for Chun Li also hinted that Bison intended to alter her in the same way, and another hidden character, called Shadow Lady, was a Shadow-altered Chun-Li. Shadow Lady's ending in the game also showed a similar fate befalling Jin Saotome.

BLANKA


Blanka is a video game character from the Street Fighter series of fighting games. Blanka has green skin and long orange hair. He is a native and believed to be a monster by many. Blanka's first appearance in the Street Fighter series was in Street Fighter II. His prototypical name was "Big Dean Caves." Blanka was originally going to look more like a caveman and there are rumors that the design for King Rasta Mon from Saturday Night Slam Masters was one of the early Blanka character models. In Street Fighter Alpha 3, his character design was again changed to make him less ferocious-looking.


Blanka's most apparent characteristic is his green color. His in-game storyline states that he was once extremely pale and was once known locally as the "hombre blanco" (white man) and adapted the blanco into his name Blanka. This is a strange storyline point because the language spoken in Brazil is not Spanish but Portuguese (in which that expression would be "homem branco"). His green skin color in the games is attributed to his constant use of chlorophyll from plants to better blend in with the jungle environment, a color change that eventually became permanent. His coloring changed in later games, making him bright green with vivid orange hair as opposed to the yellowish green skin he had in Street Fighter II. Blanka's style of fighting in the games is a self-taught savage fighting style; however, Capcom's USA division depicted it as a Capoeira technique.
